Campus Life Health Centre
The Health Centre is a vital part of our university.
It is an excellent modern facility where there is always a resident qualified Duty Nurse in charge.
The university Medical Officer visits the University regularly and all resident students must be registered with her under the National Health Service. Private medical treatment can, however, be arranged at families’ expense if they so request, and there is a Nuffeld Hospital in the town. Membership of the AXA PPP University Scheme to provide private medical cover at low cost can be arranged and is strongly recommended for those students who intend to play sport at a high level.
QUALIFIED STAFF
At Angels College, we provide nursing care to students and first aid care to all members of the university community, including visitors. The centre is staffed by qualified nurses 24 hours a day during semester. We also have a health centre assistant who works from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, part of her role being to take students to medical appointments outside university. We also have a college keeper who works from 8am to 1pm Monday to Friday.
The Angels College, UK Medical Centre is staffed by full-time qualified nurses and is open for business between 8.15am and 4.15pm. However, qualified cover is always available outside of these formal opening hours from our residential staff. We are proud of our staff and facilities – our students, be they resident students or day, benefit from the availability of well-qualified and motivated staff, as well as well-equipped sick-bays and surgery.
